Recipe Specials for June

June is the time to brew for Pacific Gravity's August meeting. The style of the month is Wits and Wheats, so we've got fine example of those styles. We've also got some good recipes for summertime brewing and some upcoming competitions.

Wit Men Can't Jump is a great recipe for summertime brewing. And Wit is a great beer for summertime drinking. What more do you need to know? Buy it $22 this month.

Our recipe for Near Dark Dunkeweizen is an example of the Dunkelweizen style. Dunkel means dark, so this is a dark wheat beer. Isn't that a contradiction in terms? Not to the Bavarians! Take one home for $22.00.

There's a Strong Beers Club Only Competition in August and to help you enter, we're putting our Old Perpendicular Ale recipe on special. This recipe is an example of the English style Old Ale, which features a malty flavor profile, rather than the hoppy profile of a Barleywine. Try it for only $30.00.

There's another Club Only Competition in September and that one is for Vienna/Marzen/Oktoberfest. Lagers take longer to brew, so we're putting My Favorite Marzen on special for June. Make it your favorite for only $26.00.

Sorghum Extract in Stock

Sorghum is the grain of choice for brewing gluten-free beers. We've got both 3 pound and 6 pound jars of sorghum extract in stock now, so why not give it a try?

6-Row an Endangered Species?

Our last 3 attempts at ordering 6-row malt has resulted in nothing being delivered. We're going to keep trying but it's not looking good right now. Maybe the big American brewers have all migrated to 2-row or maybe there's another reason, but the bottom line is that we're not sure when we're going to see it again.

CO2 Refills at CCHBS

This is just to remind you that we now can refil your CO2 tanks. Currently, the price is $15 for 5 pound tanks, $20 for 10 lb. tanks and $25 for 20 lb. tanks.

Dusseldorf Alt Yeast in Stock

The White Labs platinum seasonal yeast for June-July is the Dusseldorf Alt strain. This is one of our favorite yeasts and, thanks to June Gloom, it should be cool enough for Alt brewing through June. We've also got some of the Abbey Ale IV, Essex Ale, and Nottingham Ale platinum releases left and they're all worth trying.
